/ BRIEF
CRAFTING A FESTIVE UNBOXING EXPERIENCE

To elevate the festive gifting experience, Lakme seeks an innovative packaging design that captures the brand's essence and product type. The packaging should feature a delightful hidden element, ensuring a memorable experience.
A CLOSER LOOK
Lakmé is the leading cosmetics brand in India and follows a very minimalistic colour scheme of black and white and sometimes an accent of colour to complement it. When it comes to festive packs, the design stays minimal but the colours become vibrant.

DISCOVERING THE MAGIC OF DIWALI

We started by asking people around us what made Diwali special for them. We found what the most recurring words were then used these words as prompts to brainstorm ideas for the brief.
Inspired by the iconic lanterns of Diwali, a symbol of Diwali, we conceptualized packaging that would reflect the essence of the festival.
We wanted the packaging to elevate the mood of Diwali. So, we came up with the tagline:
'A gift to light up your face and a surprise to light up your house.'

BEYOND THE BOX
The packaging features five distinct lattice designs, each representing a specific day of Diwali. These abstract lattices symbolize the unique meaning and stories associated with each day of the festival, offering a visual journey through Diwali's traditions.
Each lattice is an abstract representation of the significance of the days of Diwali.
